I'm having Monkfish Saag and he's having ribeye steak and peppercorn sauce with fat chips.

I daresay I'll uncork a nice red, possibly a sangiovese, although I have a nice Aldi champagne in the fridge.

What's cooking and flowing at yours?

i have given up on sunday dinners to be honest. I will eat my sils but don;t cook one for me
Don't know what OH is going to have. He likes casseroles but not soups. Spicy parsnip would not please him at all. He is really just a meat and 2 veg man. Or I should say one veg. roast potatoes or chips. Not my sort of food at all.
must be hard to cater for LJ

Gotta be careful LCG, tomorrow's a 'schoolday' for 3 of the girls, so not for them after 2000.
Emmie I get a bored cooking for him as his list of dislikes seems to grow every week. Mushrooms, garlic, most green veg, courgettes, salad, leeks, stir fry, most fish (certainly not prawns, crab, lobster) etc. Plus he is a coeliac so I always cook from fresh to ensure meals are gluten and barley free. Doesn't like duck, goose, venison. And so much more.
i have only myself to cater for unless people come over

Same here, Baldric. I will limit myself to a glass and a bit. I've only got tomorrow and Tuesday at work and then I'm off until 04 Jan :-)

Sounds very American / Canadian, Sanmac. I ordered creamed spinach in a steakhouse in Boston the night my husband asked me to marry him and it was really creamy and, well, practically running off the plate.
Sausage roll was fine, just had my second course, chocolate eclair, now looking over at a bannana,. I seem to be going for the same shape for some reason?
Home made stew, Diced Beef, Potatoes, Carrots, Turnip/Swede (Thingie) Leeks, Parsnip, Onion, Bisto Stock, Coarse Black pepper, Garlic. I'll get three meals out of it, sure to be eaten before Santa drops me off at Mum's on Christmas Eve.

Shh... all will be safe, sorted today, so I trust no-one will tell Boris. ;-)
Takeaway pizza tonight (pepperoni and extra onion).
Ribeye steaks, savoury rice and green veg medley.
Followed by one of the numerous mince pies I've bought and won't get eaten!!!!!
Late meal here after a couple of hours of zooming.

Steak and Ale pie, cheesy mash and pan broiled green crap (I think it's kale, but who cares - I only eat it out of some vague guilt about vitamins). I've had a pan of home-made onion gravy bubbling for a couple of hours and it's coming along nicely.

Bottle of Zin from Herr Lidl should wash it down nicely

A relative sent us a dozen fancy mince pies from Bettys, with a use by date of 19th December, we received them on 17th. We already had some in too.
I’m sick to death of mince pies even though I like them.
i don't like mince pies
Pea'n'soup and something else I've not thought of yet.
A veggie traybake for me...baby new potatoes, chopped up portabella mushrooms, chinese aubergine, shallots, tomatoes...loads of garlic, some chilli and whatever other seasonings I fancy. Maybe a bit of balsamic. I've got a bottle of Primitivo already open.

Shirley, why not treat yourself!

Arky, that sounds just the job at this time of year.

Sharon, do you like your mince pies warm with cream?

SD, I bought that wine earlier when I popped in to Lidl. I also got a bottle of the Puglia Appasimento.

You need crusty French bread with that, Zebo.

That sounds really nice, Pasta. I'd probably crumble some goats cheese over that and drizzle with balsamic reduction.

SD ... I also bought the Valle Central Viognier Reserva Privada (Chile) which I'll take to my mum's for Christmas.
We had scallion + potato soup. Followed by chicken + veg paella.

Very nice indeed, Piggy, but I couldn't eat a starter before a paella. Mind you, I don't really have a big appetite if I'm honest.
