A WhatsApp chat with my granddaughter this morning ended...Bye Grandma. Hope I can see you next year and I'll bring Bob to meet you.

I was delighted but had to ask the questions any responsible Grandma would. How old is he? What does he do? Are his prospects good? Can he sing and dance? (necessary for an evening in an Irish pub).

The reply: Grandma. Bob's my new dog.
