Deep Sleep
11 Answers
I got an activity tracker for christmas. I was reluctant to set it up in case it belted out "you lazy fat lump" or "not ANOTHER cake" but I set it up last night to track my sleep. It told me this morning I'd had 2.32 hrs of deep sleep an 5.17 hrs of light sleep. 1 how does it know? 2 what's the optimum ratio between deep and light sleep?

>>> I was reluctant to set it up in case it belted out "you lazy fat lump" or "not ANOTHER cake". That's not called 'an activity tracker'; it's called 'a partner'. ;-) From the Fitbit website: https:// blog. fitbit. com/ sleep- stages- explained/

In healthy adults, about 13 to 23 percent of your sleep is deep sleep. So if you sleep for 8 hours a night, that’s roughly 62 to 110 minutes.

If that's right you're getting plenty of deep sleep.

Heart rate changes and no movement in deep sleep.
