keeping a back up of favourites
7 Answers
Ive got literally about 100 websites saved to my favourites and sorted out nicely into order in various folders. I'm worried that if my computer got infected by a virus etc or if i upgrade my computer i won't have this list any longer - Is there any way of keeping a backup of all my favourites and if so please could you tell me step by step how to do it? Thanks a million

You don't say what OS you have but just click on "Start" "Search" "All files and folders" and enter the word "favorites" - note the spelling, in the top box. You will see several folders called "Favorites" click on then until you find the one with your favorites in. When you find the correct folder click on the back button and then right click on the folder and select "copy". You can then paste a copy wherever you want.
I have a better idea.
enter a site called del.icio.us (yes, you prononce it without the dots):
http://del.icio.us
what it is, is a social bookmarks manager. basically this means that everyone can have their bookmarks stored online by them. anyone is free to see your bookmarks. you're free to see and search everyone else's.
best thing: its just a website, so you can access it from any place you can access a website! take your favourites everywhere you go online. also, they use a tagging system, which means that you give each link in your favourites certain keywords of your choosing, so they're easier to find and search later.
oh, and it's totally free. if you use firefox as your browser, you can get a free plugin for it called foxylicious, that just puts your del.icio.us links into your regular favourites/bookmarks toolbar.

.....or try EA7.Not only does it back-up your IE favs but your address book and several other things. I have found it a great help when formatting, upgading etc.
