Really Angers Me

just been to our shopping entre and have seen a large number of young girls (predominantly) walking round in bunches or gangs not wearing masks or have them but round their chin, of course the shopping centre " security "staff do absolutely nothing when they walk past and it is the law for all to wear one unless thy have a medical problem

The security staff don't have the power to enforce the rules Derek, only the police can do that

Many of the one we see are also drinking from costas or slush puppy drinks or from coke through straws sold at takeaways in the shopping centres so there masks need to be off. Maybe there should not be selling them or there should be designated seating areas.
Theres not a lot staff can do apart from offer free masks or remind them but would you approach a group of 10 teenagers?
Maybe just avoid those places where masks arn't enforced or used enough anyway

Security guards here enforce mask wearing in the shopping malls and hand out masks if necessary. No mask no entry

derek, as I have vulnerable people living with me I simply don't go out unless I absolutely have to. I certainly wouldn't go to a shopping centre. I can't risk bringing Covid home and I, too, would get wound up at so many people choosing not to wear masks.

And yes, avoid it or at least tell the management you'll be keeping away unless there marshalls step up there efforts at enforcement/persuasion

We asked a security guard about this when I used to go( now I wouldn't) he told me and a friend that they can only advise people to wear a mask , the police can fine people for not wearing a one when required to, they can not

If I had to be in there then I'd give them as wide a berth as possible and keep my mask firmly on.

Not a good scenario. All you can really do is report it to the management and mention to as many assistants as possible but make sure your mask is firmly in place please. It can be a deadly virus.

I believe that shopping malls are private space and can refuse access if they wish (without the need for police to be involved).
I can't see them trying to do much about it, though, as they'd lose custom and possibly put their bouncers at risk.

My son drives a bus both in the city and a wide rural area. Company policy is that passengers must wear face masks when on the bus. My son says he asks them politely to wear one, if they refuse or want to argue he just closes the doors and drives off.
