Help with my holiday!
I am already looking for my summer holiday next year and have narrowed it down to a couple of choices but wanted some info and advice from the experienced travellers on here!
first choice - marbella, costa del sol: I know this is the latest haunt for the rich and famous which would suit me down to the ground but do the prices match? can I go out for meal or drinks without having to remortgage!
second choice - alcudia, majorca: some friends have said this is a very family orientated place now and whilst I don't want clubbing till 5am I would like some lively bars and lots of restaurants to chose from?
Also general advice on each would be fab, thanks!!

hi i used to live in marbella and have also stayed in alcudia.
the only downside with marbella is that i recommend hiring a car as it is quite spread out but the roads are like spagetti junction. Alcudia is very touristy and can be heaving during the summer months and is best suited for families.
If you are looking for mainland spain as a change i recommend the costa blancs 9lived there too!) not benidorm but the areas of javea calpe or moraira which are fat becomming one of spains biggest tourist areas but are not as
offensive as marbella can be. Plenty of bars and restaurants good beaches, scenery plus lots to see and do and you can fly in to alicante or valencia airport

If you are looking for something a bit different there is a guest house in alcoy called finca listanero which is ideal for a few days retreat as it is set in the mountains. owned by two english gay dudes who go all out on hospitality and the food is amazing you could then twin it with a couple of days in nerja is you are set on going to the costa del sol as all within hours drive.
