Hey peepsies :) I just had to buy a new phone for security and I ended up with a Samsung flip thingy. Forget how expensive it was but what I dont understand is it says its 5g. How do I check for 5g coverage in france?
Thanks so looks like we not in 5g area so the phone must be able to use 4g+.. its very strange because when I was selecting a phone it said 4g, 4g/5g and just 5g. I got the 5g but it must be able to use 4g so I am baffled what the difference is. I plan using the phone with a 4g lte until 5g has been more widely used. So 5g phones are 4g compatible why make the distinctions when buying then
It will also work with 3G. It makes the distinction because some people are prepared to pay the premium for a 5G phone and the higher cost of a 5G data contract for the much faster internet connection
Tiger and Barry you are right thanks:) but in the Samsung store why did they have specific catagories 1. 4g phones, 2. 4g/ 5G PHONES OR the one I bought which is 3. 5g phones. Why have 3 categories not just 2 if all 5g work with 4g etc. It really perplexed me hehe
Huge difference in price, I guess, and 5G is a draw for a particular type of buyer. I wouldn't spend the extra on 5G if I needed to buy a new phone today so I would find it more convenient to have all the 4G phones grouped together.
I don't understand the 4G/5G category - as far as I know all 5G phones are backward compatible.
Good grief! Your phone is £1300. Gulp. *can you lend me a tenner?*
