52% Of Republicans Polled Blame Joe Biden For Assault On Capitol
yougov has done some polling among US voters on the capitol attack... some astonishing results
https:/ /today. yougov. com/top ics/pol itics/a rticles -report s/2021/ 01/06/U S-capit ol-trum p-poll
"In fact, many Republicans (45%) actively support the actions of those at the Capitol, although as many expressed their opposition (43%). "
"Far fewer voters think President-elect Joe Biden is a great deal (17%) or somewhat (9%) to blame. That being said, Biden is the biggest culprit in the eyes of Republicans, at 52%, compared to 28% for Donald Trump and 26% for the Congressional Republicans who opposed certification of the election results. "
Why do so many republicans believe things that are obviously untrue?

Perhaps you were on holiday at the time. In fact, you could get your answer removed for daring to criticize them.
I know, as Jim tells us, this was an 'attack' on the Senate. The very fabric of American Democracy. He said exactly the same thing when the anti-Kavanaugh mob invaded the Senate Buildings a couple of years ago. (I'm sure)

First of all, it's wrong to suggest that I've ever supported violent protestors, whatever their motivation. Secondly, I don't think there's even a legitimate equivalence between the Kavanaugh protests and what went down last week. Back then, people didn't break into the building in tactical gear, didn't plant pipe bombs, didn't have plastic handcuffs, didn't break into and steal from senior offices, hadn't set up a mock gallows and screamed "hang Mike Pence", etc. There is no comparison.
Thirdly, and most importantly, what even is to be gained from making such a comparison? Supposing that Spicerack were after all correct to draw the comparison, all that proves is that everybody was wrong; and yet it's clear that the argument is being used not to condemn the previous protests but to condone the most recent incidents. It's pure and simple "what-about"ism, and barely worthy even of this token reply. What happened last week should be unequivocally condemned.

Jim; //ie that Biden is mentally incapable of office, at the same time as thinking that he has orchestrated one of the most sophisticated frauds in history.//
I don't think 'Joebama' orchestrated the frauds, or will orchestrate very much personally in the future. Without his scriptwriters & former Obama team to support him (physically as well!) he's nor' but a shadow, - poor old soul.
As I've said elsewhere, he's only there because he's not Trump, as the poor attendances at his rallies attested.
Nobody seems to really like him, - except perhaps you?

I'm not altogether sure that "poor rally attendance" proves anything much. Unlike Trump, Biden has been taking the pandemic seriously and trying to lead by example. This includes not encouraging mass gatherings -- hence for example the preference for drive-in rallies, which naturally reduce attendance both because fewer people will want to travel anyway and because cars take up more space than people.
I don't doubt that Biden also picked up a great deal of the anti-Trump vote, but it's also far from true that he isn't popular. Partly because of his association with Obama, and partly because he also seems to have come across as an actually nice person, he has in any case far better favourability ratings than Trump. I don't know if I "like" him for his politics, still a little too conservative for my tastes, but I defy anyone to dislike him as a person, at least when compared with Trump.

I'll happily take that bet, Khandro. I can confidently assert that I'll never wish Trump was back in the House. I've had four years of him enough to judge him as a leader, and I've found him wanting politically on almost everything and, crucially, as a sad excuse for a human being with no moral compass or decency whatsoever. I can tolerate leaders who are opposite me politically if they are otherwise decent people. Trump never has been and never will be.
