Yesterday we had heavy snow and stayed indoors all day. Beautiful to look at, and a good day to read and relax.

Today it melted completely and the sun came out. We've been in the garden, tidied a border, sheets on the line, a different day altogether. Just baked a cake, and about to cook dinner.

How has your lockdown weekend been?

My daughters, both skilled and the younger one, having been in the top 100 women single skaters in the States when she was 12, think that DoI is a comedy programme. The younger one no longer skates seriously as there's a rule that, as a woman, you have to be in your 14th year for nationals and 16th for internationals - it's all about boob development. If you are flat chested, it's obvious that its easier to get the vertical in the air to make the jumps..... S had all four tied down by the time she was 8 - and off the training ropes too.... Her thing is now Volleyball (not beach, sorry guys).
Oh dear DT...that's all rather sad. I do hope your mother takes a bit of food...even though it may only be a bit.

I've never been enticed by DOI...but I always used to enjoy both Olympic skating and ice dancing.
yes, it is pasta, but inevitable and as long as there is no pain....thanks though. My skating is like my singing - a complete disaster - however, how many hours spent in a rink and acting as a stagehand for their Christmas shows, usually the Nutcracker? I hate to think.
Got to see the first quad jump live that I had seen though at one of them....it' impressive to witness.
Not a bad weekend really. Saturday weather was completely horrible - squall blasted freezing snow about 7a.m. and continued to do so. Got well wrapped-up, dressed dog in his (loathed and rarely worn coat) and bravely set off. Nearly fell several times, paths horrible - got dog out into country after about 1/4 of a mile. He flatly refused to pooh, turned round and set off resolutely for home. We meekly gave in.

After that it was paper, crossword, general stuff - Snooker in afternoon helped- I am reading The Mirror and the Light, so I settled down with that. I can certainly recommend it.

Today, much nicer weather, did some laundry and had a good walk on Filey Beach. I'm now on P.494 and don't have to refer to the character lists and family trees so often. Written my bits of non-news for local press and temporarily abandoned story I'm in the middle of because of cooking.

It's all perfectly tolerable; nice, even - but not all the time! I am beginning to wake up a bit depressed with the sameness of it all.
