Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Hi there,
My grid is completely filled now and I’m satisfied and proud that I’ve found the two characters and three films. I have been looking long and hard at the answers, trying to determine the extra letters but as I said before, I’m no good at trying to determine extra letters and words, and despite the AB-assisted answers for which I’m eternally grateful, I’m still at sea. Would anyone be kind enough to suggest or hint at the “instruction to solvers” or the list of “extra letters” involved to enlighten me? Many thanks in advance!

You need to highlight the favourite food of the 1st character. (Google it if you don't know the answer)

Matakari, I'm glad you found the characters and films, tricky(!) though it must have been. It's a pity you couldn't manage the extra letters bit, but at least the puzzle is finished now! Maybe next month's puzzle will be more suited to you.

Many thanks for your graceful and unstinting help, Roslyn251254. I enjoyed Chalicea and am now studying the answers to “Season’s Greetings X11 Eclogue”. I am looking forward to the
February challenge, “Changing places” by Rebus…I will study some of his past puzzles. Thanks

Thanks for your guidance and suggestions, NACW! It was a real Eureka moment for me when I got the characters and films and am still amazed at Chalicea’s skills. Hope I’ll have an easier time with the February challenge.

Sunny-dave, this is the third thread on Best Mates -you must have missed Matakari's earlier ones. I agree, it was a fun, well-crafted, satisfying puzzle.

Yes - thanks NACW - I've had a look back now that I've done the puzzle - and have just printed off the Seasons Greeting by Eclogue for tomorrow's fun.
