Right This Is About Me
13 Answers
I do need a consultation with a doctor about something - I know I will be offered a telephone consultation and I can categorically tell you I will not hear him/her as I will get flustered as hell and not be able to hear and so will bluster with something stupid. I don't know what to do.
Would a doctor email me or have time to email me.

You've maybe seen it before, lots of companies, banks, shops etc have the facility. It'd be worth asking if this was available to you - if it is, is usually just involves clicking on a bit that says something like 'Chat now'.
never - yes thanks I have used that Chat now on a lot sites and it has been unbelievably a life saving thing to me but I've just looked at my surgery and they don't have that. They have an email address right enough but I need to phone them first to let them know that an email could come to them. They have asked for no willy-nilly questions to be put on the email only photographs (which I don't have) so I'll give that a go. Thanks all.
Do they have the facility to request an appointment online? My GP surgery have a brilliant one set up now. It asks number of questions and it's great as you can put all relevant information in. You can attach files, though there are some restrictions on what you are able to attach photos of.
It's triaged to a GP or Nurse as appropriate. They can send you messages through the system too. I get an email with a link to access them, by first confirming my DOB for security reasons. It's a great system. I've had updates about ongoing issues sent this way, saves so much time on both sides.
If there is anything like that you could also put in information about how you wouldn't be able to hear a telephone consultation, don't have a mobile/apps etc... so they can assess how they might be able to help you.
I did an online request to speak to a GP the other day, so much easier than trying to ring at half 8. It's a recurring issue so I explained the issue and medical condition, referred to a letter from my consultant setting out the treatment I needed (saving time going through it all of this on the phone and them trying to find the letter while on the call). I also noted that I'm shielding, so would ideally need any prescription sending electronically to a local pharmacy who can deliver. Had a very quick call from a GP confirming a prescription had been sorted and my medication was delivered later that day. Brilliant service!
