Melanie Sykes or not?

It's driving me mad, and so is the question. In the shampoo ad for hydrating hair (don't ask me which product) it looks like Mel Sykes, but when the mouth opens and she says 'I wish I could hydrate my skin like that' out comes a Sloany voice totally unlike the equally irritating Bolton twang she usually produces.
Has she got a lookalike or did they like her appearance so much they had to have her but dub the voice with one the majority of people could understand, and keep her real voice for beer ads only?

It does look very much like her, and I agree, the voice is rather posh for her.

As a longtime stalker...I mean, admirer of Ms Sykes, I can assure you it is her. I don't think she sounds particularly posh in this ad, but then I'm from the south ;-). The "'ey Tarquil, are your trolleys on t'right way round" voice from the Boddingtons ad was an exaggerated version of her accent.

That irritating twang is not bolton but oldham. there is nothing wrong with my twang!!

that advert bugs the hell outta me - "the things i have to do to hydrate my skin" motioning to a glas of water. OH MY GOD she has to drink?? no wonder shes annoyed

When you see her on Des and Mel she has a naturally stron Oldham (pardon me) accent, irritating because of her, not the accent btw.
I very much doubt she can alter her accent to talk Sloane, especially as she is a model and not a trained actress. Unless she has hidden depths I never knew about. At least they didn't dub it as an American...

I doubt you can hydrate skin, the layers concerned are far too deep to affect with cream and anything taken orally would probably be rather too severe.

the whole advert is about hydrating your hair/scalp .... wow isnt it easy, i can do it with shampoo, not this crappy water stuff that i have to use on my skin
