purse snatchers

I came back from a 2 week holiday in mercia Spain , on thurs night. (santiago de la Ribera)

I had my purse lifted out of my bag, by a very quick proffesional purse snatcher ! in the local market.
I lost �65 , plus my debit card -- so hurriedly sorted it out 5 mins after realising It had gone. Alls well now.

Please be aware, and dont let your hand stray from holding the opening (top) of your bag.

Far better to ditch the handbag - they are too easily snatched.

True. I wear a money belt on holiday, and never carry a lot of money when on a general shop.

Those Spanish kids on scooters and motorbikes are very adept at snatching a bag as they drive past.

Not all of them, only the criminal ones. :)

I had �1500 Euros stolen from my bag last year, got it from the bank, in Majorca, And stuffed it into one of those little plastic bank bags.
I`d just got it, spent about 60e in tobacconists, got to a little shop near hotel, where I picked up 2 items and had to put them back, as I didn`t have more than a few cents on me.
A hard lesson to learn, I had my little shoulder back slung round my shoulder at the back of me, I think someone must have followed me from tobacconists.

Shoulder bag, not shoulder back, must be the 3 cans of lager.
Must add, hadn`t had any lager when the money disappeared.

my hand went off my bag for a second while I held up 2 tops to look at, then quickly decided that I didnt want them.
So --in a flash, she lifted my purse after opening the zip of my small bag that was over my shoulder.
I noticed the europian woman there when I arrived at the stall, then as I walked away, I somehow remember seeing 2 women together. Thought no more of it at the time.

I will never ever take a bag to market again.
