...I had a message that I've a tax refund due. This came from a different number than the notification I got a month ago. TWO refunds!? I'll be rich.
Maybe I should use it to pay my Netflix bill...that was another late night message.
Trouble is...I don't have Netflix.

The scammers buy up a different range of phone numbers in the country and then use automated machines to randomly make quick missed calls to blocks of different numbers. Giving your phone a couple of rings which is long enough for it to make a missed call.
If you think the number might be suspect,dont answer let it go to voicemail. A quick Google of the number will likely tell you if it is part of an ongoing spam call.
