Bursitis where?
Question Author
Left knee predominantly, right elbow slightly.
I was prescribed Ibuprofen Gel and Paracetamol when I had this condition. Both of these available over the counter. Hope it improves, it really is painful.
I have it in my right hip and I completely sympathise. Bizarrely since losing so much weight I’ve developed all sorts of things lol. I was told ice packs to help

Thank you maggiebee I’m taking naproxin 500mg also tried ibuprofen. Disappointed with results. I’ve been prescribed naproxin before for gout. First time it worked, second flare up it did nothing.
Unusual to have bursitis in two different places at the same time.
Ibuprofen 400mgms as and when necessary uo to every four hours for the pain.
If symptoms persist 7-10 days, then see your GP.
Agree with Sqad actually - I was told you usually only have it in one place at a time x
Question Author
It is incapacitating especially as I have to go up and down stairs. It takes ages and boy does it smart.
Question Author
Thank you sqad. GP in hiding. Practice nurse by phone only if very lucky.
David, I’m slim, healthy looking, have no idea where or how I’ve developed it but I agree god it can hurt. Just laying in bed is horrendous. Sending you a big hug x
Question Author
Thank you Smowball, hug gratefully received:-)
I’ve always found Ibuprofen gel much more effective than tablets.

Thanks margarettom I will get some today.
I have it twice - on my shoulder and hip. For me - time only helped.
I have it down the side of both hips, one side worse than the other, it is horribly painful. I have steroid injections every so often, which are brilliant.

I had it come up under one of my legs for a while, which made sitting on it extremely painful and was I given some stronger prescription pain gel to help and had some physio.
