The late manager, Dick Condon, a lovely man, encouraged the casts to go into the bar after the show. I met many actors and singers that way. The one that stands out was Tom Baker, he was very friendly and strangely attractive. I'm a great fan of the wonderful Anthony Newley and met him a couple of times, he was also very friendly. My daughter left a gift for him at the stage door and he wrote and thanked her.

Again, a story but not a movie star.
I was passenger on a flight to the Gulf. My friend was working in first class and Cilla was one of her passengers. Apparently she was the nicest person in the world. I then found myself standing next to her at the transfer desk in Doha. I was too starstruck to speak to her.

Omar Sharif, on many occasions , he was in my first husbands card club in Paris. Stunningly handsome man, beautiful manners, just gorgeous with no pretentiousness what-so-ever.
Brigitte Bardot at Blanc-Sablon, Quebec where she was campaigning against the hunting of baby Harp seals. Also, when her foundation relocated to Paris. Beautiful woman who has done so much for Animal Welfare .

I bought William Hartnell a drink in a Sussex pub in the early sixties. He played the lead in the first Carry on film, carry on sergeant. I complimented him on his performance and asked what his next role would be. I'll always remember his answer, he said " It's for television, Doctor who or something like that". He was very friendly and polite. My next encounter was in Stratford upon Avon, also mid sixties, walking down a street when a man came out of a small cafe and we literally bumped into each other. He grabbed me to stop falling and I realised it was Jack Palance. Unlike most of his movie rolls where he usually played the baddie, he also was very polite and friendly.
