I met Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley by chance when they were visiting Dorset. He was famous and she not so much yet (ie pre Versace dress). It was an ordinary situation and they were ordinary too.
I used to frequent The Theatre Royal in Norwich when I lived that way. The late manager, Dick Condon, a lovely man, encouraged the casts to go into the bar after the show. I met many actors and singers that way. The one that stands out was Tom Baker, he was very friendly and strangely attractive. I'm a great fan of the wonderful Anthony Newley and met him a couple of times, he was also very friendly. My daughter left a gift for him at the stage door and he wrote and thanked her.

Again, a story but not a movie star.

I was passenger on a flight to the Gulf. My friend was working in first class and Cilla was one of her passengers. Apparently she was the nicest person in the world. I then found myself standing next to her at the transfer desk in Doha. I was too starstruck to speak to her.
Omar Sharif, on many occasions , he was in my first husbands card club in Paris. Stunningly handsome man, beautiful manners, just gorgeous with no pretentiousness what-so-ever.

Brigitte Bardot at Blanc-Sablon, Quebec where she was campaigning against the hunting of baby Harp seals. Also, when her foundation relocated to Paris. Beautiful woman who has done so much for Animal Welfare .
I’ve met the bloke who played thingy Webster’s dad in Corrie outside a butchers in Hawes. We had a nice chat about sausages.

I don’t think I move in the same circles as APG (gulp).
Zacs // I don’t think I move in the same circles as APG (gulp).//

LOL! that was another life Zacs. Paris in the late 70's early -80's.

These days it's the WI and local drama group -or it used to be.
I’ve dined with Sacha Distelle. Well, he was in the same restaurant.
I bought William Hartnell a drink in a Sussex pub in the early sixties. He played the lead in the first Carry on film, carry on sergeant. I complimented him on his performance and asked what his next role would be. I'll always remember his answer, he said " It's for television, Doctor who or something like that". He was very friendly and polite. My next encounter was in Stratford upon Avon, also mid sixties, walking down a street when a man came out of a small cafe and we literally bumped into each other. He grabbed me to stop falling and I realised it was Jack Palance. Unlike most of his movie rolls where he usually played the baddie, he also was very polite and friendly.
Richard Attenborough sometime in the eighties, self-effacing gentleman
I met Sophia Loren
^^^
And then I woke up
Not quite a film star, film director Mike Figgis ( leaving las vegas) he paid a visit to our arts cinema in '96 i think. He asked me who had made one of the cakes, and when i told him it was me he said he liked it.
Met Tony Iommi in a rock bar in '78.
