Wouldn't have thought so - I'm not a governement vet, so don't quote me. There is, as far as I know, no case of bird flu transferring from mammal to mammal, so if the cat survived, there would be no problem

I didn't know that cats had chimneys.

Or birds for that matter.
But the infected cat could transfer Bird Flu back to other un-infected birds, thus distributing the disease, I would think any creature with bird flu would need to be destroyed.

I aint no vet either
