Hoping someone can clarify a matter for me. Both my wife and I have fecently had a "check up etc" at our dentist and paid £23.80 under Band A. We were advised that we both need an extraction and the addition of a tooth to our dentures - this is covered under Band B, £65.20. My question is this : will we be expected to pay £65.20 on our next visit or will the £23.80 already paid be subtracted from the £65.20 ?? A bit confusing maybe, but any advice would be appreciated.

whether this helps your question or not - I go privately - I paid £120 for two back molars removed, upper and lower. Asked for more numbing - got it, and received a teeth cleansing package. mouthwash, toothpaste, etc. And of course the courtesy of the staff is excellent. Worth every penny to me a very nervous person.
I can confirm having had a similar situation recently, I paid the £23.80 for the check up and was then rebooked for the treatment needed. Although that treatment was delayed for some time due to the pandemic, I still only paid the balance between A and B when I did return as it was part of the original visit.
My answer is the same as Maydup...as you were told that further work was needed at the time of the first visit, only the balance will be payable (been there, done that!).
