Shark Vs Dyson

I want to treat myself to a cordless vac its a toss up between the Shark and the Dyson, has anyone used either of these, and If yes what were they like.

i have a dyson and its fine, i had a G Tech before which i ditched.

I love my Dyson had it a few years now and still as good as when I first got it.

i have had mine for a while, though it seemed expensive at the time, it does the job.

Dyson all the way...ours is five years old and works just like new, still with original battery.
All the Which? Best Buys are Dyson, too.

We inherited a Dyson CV9 (?) last year.
I loved it; light, easy to manoeuvre and sucked the carpet like a demon. Unfortunately, it developed a fault and died.
We think it might have needed a new battery (we had no idea how long M-i-L had owned it) but at over £60 we were reluctant to buy one only to find that the fault was elsewhere in the appliance.

I am still debating over whether to just bite the bullet and buy a brand new one....

I like my dyson but it’s not coping with excess pet hairs very well now. I’m looking for a replacement, any suggestions ?

After getting frustrated with my gTech, I bought a Shark. Not cordless. I found that while it is excellent for cleaning...getting up copious amounts of pet hair...it was was too heavy and cumbersome for me. It doesn't stand on its own and needs to lean on something. Whose bright design idea was that??
I've gone back to the gTech plus a hand held.

I tried both a Dyson and shark (pet hair mostly) and sent them both back. Returned to a gtech.

i don't find the dyson hand held part that much use, i tried getting the sofa dust up, round the back and top part where it gets dusty the most, but instead it made it worse. i eventually stuck the whole dyson round and it did the trick. not sure that makes sense but hey ho.

pastafreak, we have a corded Shark and it stands on it's own with no problem as do most corded vacs. Not used a Shark cordless but we have a Dyson cordless and find it works fine on picking up most things but battery doesn't last long enough.

That's interesting theshedman. When I got my Shark, I'm quite positive I'd seen comments that it didn't stand on its own...not sure where though...here or Amazon.

I’ve used Dyson and Shark. I bought the Shark “Anti Hair Clog”because the Dyson kept getting clogged with my hair. But, the Shark is also getting clogged with my hair. I have to get me scissors and screwdriver out every time I vacuum.

Cloverjo the anti hair wrap bit, was the reason, I was leaning more toward the Shark, how long had you had it before it started clogging up with hair?

I've never had a Shark but I prefer Gtech over Dyson.

We have a Shark and it is brilliant. I've always found Dyson overrated and overpriced.
