Have just had a call from my GP surgery inviting me for my jab tomorrow afternoon. Was wavering a bit but have decided to go for it. That's assuming I can dig my car out, over a foot of snow here brrrrr.

I wasn't keen on trying to get there anyway. I'd thought about taking the train but that might have left me waiting for nearly an hour on a freezing cold platform for a train home. Otherwise I'd have had to risk driving there but with a car full of food, drink and blankets in case I got stuck in the snow. Fortunately I got a cancellation text three hours before my appointment, so I didn't have to go anyway. However some others weren't so lucky. The local paper reported that one couple battled through a long drive, in very tricky conditions, to get to their vaccination centre, only to find it closed. Then they got stranded in the snow when trying to get home. (Fortunately someone came to their rescue).
At least it sounds as if your trip will be quite a short one (as it's to your local GP's surgery). Some people in rural Suffolk have got quite long journeys to get to their nearest vaccination centres.
Good luck!
