I finally got around to getting my QR code printed - like last week, but my printer hasn't been going great and so the QR code printed out in blue. I( told the lady in the Post Office last week and she said - ach that'll be ok.

Just left the Post Office with blue QR code and she said in horror - oh it must be black.

Okay doke. have done all kinds of manners of things with the printer and HEY HO it is black - so will be able to bring the item back tomorrow

HOWEVER, it occurred to me when I got home - if the nice post lady photocopied my blue QR code from her printer - I'm sure it would have come up black. Wouldn't that have sufficed.

^^^^^ my blue QR code on paper^^
If a colour printer is used to copy a blue QR code, the copy will also be blue unless the settings are changed. The folk at the P.O. might not know how to do that.
I've never used a home printer but every work printer/copier/scanner has the option for black and white, in fact it's often the default to save on coloured inks. I'm sure the post office could have done that for you.
At my last work we had only one copier that would print in colour.
doesn't have to be black, more jobsworthery, it just needs enough contrast for the reader.
If you photocopy blue it might come out grey.

What is a QR code?
they should just try and read the blue one, it'll probably work.
