Ibuprofen & Naproxen Together - With Lansoprazole

im having a really bad day with my back - its making me want to cry - and i very rarely cry with pain

I have naproxen and lansoprazole to protect my stomach
but a couple of hours ago took ibuprofen

now generally they say dont take them together - but thats only because they can both irritate your stomach - naproxen does not contain any ibuprofen

but i have lansoprazole to protect my stomach

so can i take a naproxen if a have a lansoprazole and a meal beforehand?
im thinking that will protect my tum enough, right?

perhaps i could take 2 lansoprazole?

anyone any experience with this?

naproxen and ibuprofen are in the same class of drugs, and therefore should not be taken together

I agree with bednobs, either Ibuprofen or Naproxen not both and yes it is a good idea to take them before meals.
Ibuprofen..400mgms minimum every 4-6 hours if need be.
No point in doubling up on your Lansoprazole.

there no ibuprofen in naproxen though, it seems the only reason they advise against it, is stomach issues.
i just took the standard ibuprofen dose - 400mg

They are both non steroid anti-inflammatories, so the same drug. Have you tried ibubrofen gel?

joko...you've been told twice already...they are in the SAME CLASS of drugs, so shouldn't be taken together.

I was told I could take paracetamol with naproxan but not any ibuprofen type medicine.

Husband is on Naproxen and takes paracetamol if he needs more pain relief.

Joke, I take ibuprofen and paracetamol together with good results. Don’t wait until you are in pain, take them at regular intervals. Try, hot water bottle, heat pad .
