Hi we rescued a border terrierXlakeland a little while ago, he was almost bald with a big Afro bum and could hardly breathe, a good vet later and he is now a healthy young pup with gorgeous thick wiry fur, and plently of it, he had something called "dermadex", I don't know how it is spelt but its a tiny mite and he had thousands of them apparently we (yes humans) all have them but they lie dormant on our skin (the breathing was kennel cough and soon cleared), they 'sheep dipped' or thats what it smelt like three times and you wouldn't ever believe it, don't give up on him, he will repay you tenfold.
