Elton John, Kevin Bacon, Robert De Niro, George Clooney, Jane Fonda - the list is endless. That's what they do, act, and it's really none of our business what they do with their money.
no it isn't our business, George Clooney gave 14 close good friends 1 million dollars each, i know he can afford it, but its a nice gesture to those who helped him when he first started out.

dunno precise details but I think a lot of film stars lost big money due to bad investments / a scam in the noughties. I think Bacon was one and maybe Nick Cage.

But seeing De Niro in some of his monumental acting roles then dressed as a bovver boy to plug some Jap car is just ludicrous.

Still he did the Fokkers so I guess he has form!
Talk about being offensive!
its up to their agents i guess, if they think they will fit the remit...
i don't blame them for cashing in when they can, last time i saw David Schwimmer was in a movie that was ages ago..
1998 to be precise, perhaps he is not the most wanted guy around these days,.

He was in Six Days and Seven Nights on TV recently with Harrison Ford & Anne Heche - he played Ross Geller!
Maybe these companies are just going after global, bankable stars to market their wares and attract more customers. Maybe Tom Cruise wasn't available as he was too busy screaming at people to abide by social distancing rules.
i know its been on endless times, made as i said in 1998..
maybe Tom is still bankable as a star.... many of these actors maybe past their best..
no such thing as too much moolah

and Sir Mick needs the applause of the dying and elderly ( and a little extra moolah)
If I was an actor and worth loads of money, I’d do whatever jobs I wanted to, including adverts. Why wouldn’t you?? It’s not greedy, it’s sensible.
Once again, as a culture, we feel that we are entitled to some sort of say in the way the rich and famous - especially if they are rich and and famous as a result of entertainment - run their careers and spend their money.

Just because an actor or a musician has created a large income through their talent, and produced high quality work in order to do so, does not make them beholden to us to carry on striving to do the best work they can, and then offer their rewards to causes that we see fit.

No actor or musician is under any obligation to their fans to act in any way at all, either in terms of the way they earn their living, or the way they choose to spend their money.

We may not agree with what they do - but it's their choice, not ours.

AH - do you have a sense of humour? I'm guessing not.
davebro, do you have a sense of humour? I’m guessing........

Carry on, guessing is free, and as it usually takes place in the absence of actual knowledge, it is invariably wrong - as you are.
