just inserting some advocacy of the devil -

had the UK still been in the EU, then so would Oxford University, and the EU's attitude to their vaccine is likely to have been very different. It's likely it, and other UK-produced vaccines would have feature more prominently in the EU's buying spree. would the EU have been any better off in such a scenario, or the UK worse off? we'll never know, but it's possible.

mushroom, as I recall the Oxford one was the one they initially suspected Britain was withholding from them. They only changed their tune on it when reports started coming through that it was less effective on the elderly (which is probably a good reason to be wary, if the reports prove to be true).
