Religious wedding ceremonies

I have just got engaged and would like to get married in a church. Unfortunately, neither me nor my Fiance are christened and I just wondered if anyone knew whether it would still be possible?

congratulations !!!!my friends mum had to get christened at 21 to get married in church but that was a loooong time ago ,I'm not christened and always assume that I couldn't have a church wedding but nowdays it might be down the the vicar,eg;- some will marry divoecees and some won't,sorry if that is no help!! good luck

Congrats from me too ! My Nan had to be christened on Christmas eve as she was getting married on Boxing Day and the vicar insisted she was christened before she was married, but that was back in the mid thirties. I and my wife did not get asked nor had to show proof of being Christened - I hadn't been - my wife had been, and we were married in a church - no problem. I think it differs depedning on your chosen faith. Good luck !

Congratulations on your engagement!! We've been married for 8yrs and we were never asked by the vicar if we were christened or not. The only thing we had to do was got to the curch every sunday for approx 6 weeks to hear our 'banns' read........a public announcement of our marriage.

I got married in a church and I never was christened

it all depends if your church is in your parish. Our church wasnt and the priest asked for full details of both our christenings.
