When was life ever 100% sure and risk-free? It never, ever has been and I've been alive long enough. You calculate the risks (if you know them) and get on with living. You do this even if you don't know the risks.
This horrible 'over-cautious' approach is making slaves of us all to the great God 'Safety'. I and many of us, probably most, would rather live, thank you and accept a certain risk. OH travelled to school by bus with V1s and V2s howling overhead, no-one changed anything for goodness's sake.
We've been prudent, but the risk is now minimal. The treatments are better, the NHS, (which badly needs reorganising as I have argued for ages) is coping. Vaccines are protecting the most vulnerable. Time to stop the social, economic and mental damage to society and just accept some risk as an exchange.
Repeat: Life never is - and never has been - safe. I grew-up knowing that.
