Just wanted to post this as its not letting me reply to your question 'stingray victim' below.

Why are the people who are expressing their sadness at his death false? Who are to say that?! I was upset when I heard the news that he had died. I thought he was a great character who did wonders for Australian wildlife and conservation. Of course you are entitled to your opinion of him, but to say people's feelings are false is out of order. The only ' twerps' I can see around here are you and ecoman!

Ecoman people like you and top_gooner make me sick. The man has only been dead for a day, yet here you are making jokes about it. Have some compassion and get a life.

If it wasn't you loosehead then I apologise. I think the username ws something like - ;Loosehead

My reply stil applies though to the imposter and the other idiots that posted the jokes!
I fully agree with Loosehead`s original post. He was a showman first and everything was geared to this. The ridiculous stunt of taking a baby to feed a crocodile should have meant the end of his career. Had the radio (2) on in car for short journey and was very pleased at the amount of people who rang in and said the same thing. Why should he be missed?

Why does one mistake he made mean that people shouldn't miss him now that he's dead? I honestly think he wouldn't taken the baby in with him had he thought there would have been a chance of something happening. Do you think his wife would have let him take him in there if she thought that it could?!

I think it's a bit small minded to say he shouldn't be missed because of this. Does that one bad thing outweigh the countless good things he did?
I agree Alixw, I think the thng with the kid was a bit daft but overall I liked the bloke. Done wonders for wildlife awareness, I for one will miss his energy and enthusiasm. There are so many unforgiving people like farter out there, we must assume none of them have ever made and error of judgement.
The baby stunt was daft by our standards but don't forget this is what his kids have been brought up around. His eldest daughter even does her own documentaries now apparently. Give the guy a break, I believe the term is " rest in peace"!
