How soon can puppies see after opening their eyes?
4 Answers
Hi, my dog recently had pups and some of them have opened their eyes 3 days ago, their eyes are blue in colour at the moment and im not sure if they can see or not. Do you know how soon puppies can see after opening their eyes for the first time?

This is a bit odd to be honest but without seeing them I can't say much more.Oh I'm a vet nurse btw, have been for 26 years but not seen eyes open this early I have to say. I'd ring your vets and try to speak to a vet that knows your dog maybe?
Lol @ La La....who maybe didn't have her eyes open.....bless. Although I am a pure novice in the breeding stakes, I have found that it takes a few days for the puppies eyesight to 'clear' once their eyes are open.... You'll soon notice the babies getting braver and exploring further, which does seem to coincide with the eyes darkening, or maybe it's just them getting older and braver! But whatever the reason....this is where the fun starts!! Enjoy.
