curse of monkey island

does anyone remember the game the curse of monkey island ? i bought it a few months ago but my computer is too modern for it, being such an old game and all. Does anyone no where you can get an XP version of the game ?

The Monkey Island games were excellent ... played 'em all.

Have you tries running it in Win '98 compatibility mode?

It is possible to play old games on modern PCs. For Monkey Island do a search online for programs called ScummVM and VDMsound. Between the two I managed to get Curse of MI and the first one working even though the sound can be a bit iffy depending on your configuration.

Also have a look for DosBox; a free DOS emulator for XP. Good for running loads of old games.

Download VDMSound from http://sourceforge.net/projects/vdmsound/

Install

Right-click on the MONKEY2.exe and select 'Run with VDMS'

Job done :)

i got one of them on ps2 great game

i loved monkey island when we had an amiga years ago and so hubby bought me the set so i can play it on the pc. we can even do multiplayer through the LAN wireless.
it does run on xp tho
