According to a list I am looking at issued by the Daily Telegraph(which covers groups of 5 in age )--Group 7 is 60-64---group 8 is 55-59---and group 9 is 50-54. On the news this morning they are stating that 56-59 are being invited for their jab.Does that mean if you are 55 tough luck!
Yes a get your point kenny but noone will be turned away for being too old. There are thousands of people over 60, 70 80 who missed theres for whatever reason but will get it if they ask or when there invited by there GP
I get the jab on Friday 10 min walk to hub, organised via text from my practise, Mrs Dag, different practise, got letter from Nhs, nearest they offer 40 miles away!!!
tell mrs Dagman just to check again on gov.uk, there will be nearer ones, It does say new sites will be added, check back later if you want one nearer. We dont know anyone who went more than 12 mile's
We will wait, don't understand the offer when they dont want you to travel! Waste of money sending out daft offers, so now the onus is on Mrs Dag to keep checking then it'll be a mad rush.
Just go online and look. It didnt seem a burden to me and no mad rush - there was a choice of about 10 sites including pharmacies all within 5-15 miles but none in walking distance. Had plenty of dates within the next week.
I heard this earlier today and it affects me directly.
At the moment I'm 54, but I'm 55 next week, so I thought I was going to be "promoted" into the next category up, meaning I jump ahead in the vaccine queue ..... but I heard this morning that people over 56 are next on the list .... so I'd like to know where I am ..... am I next on the list, or am I waiting for the over 50's to be invited??
New categories seem to be opening up once a week so by this Friday (or as there may be more in each age group now maybe by early next week at the latest) - so not long to wait
I have quite alot of friends, family & work colleague's age 56+ and all have been done over the last 2 weeks (most late last week) appart from two who are tomorrow, so its moving fast it seems to me,
Anyway, every cloud as a silver lining Dagman. You could accept the vaccinne offer thats 40 miles away and both go on a nice drive out with a picnic stop or simlar and would have reasonable excuse if stopped on route
The correction was made today re the 55+ rather than 56.
Also announced that ther is no need to wait for a letter, phone call or text now. Just log in with NHS number and provided you are 55+ you can book.
Local slots come online regularly, but ut might be a couple of days away. I nearly drove 50 miles last week, but waited and got a local slot today. There was no mad rush and a very, very quiet welcoming vaccination hub when I arrived.
The age ranges are changing rapidly now so anyone under 55 should keep an eye of the gov website for their time.
Coincidence or fate??
I received a message yesterday inviting me to book my vaccination appointment, even though I'm not 55 'til next week.
All done - booked both appointments :)
