We had two very (VERY) nice chaps come and clean our block paving today.
Our nice neighbours on the right were fine and appreciated the chaps knocking and cleaning a bit of their path which our mucky stuff had run on to.
The blooming grumpy chap on the left was very rude (no surprise there) and told them not to make a mess of his car..which they didn’t.
And we had home made soup for tea. And Tilly has given me her fish pie recipe. And I’m a tad ***.

LadyJ, it would appear my little joke flew over your head. You said the ducks and geese use the stream. Ducks and geese is a slang term for the police. Must be a NE Lancashire thing?

'Ducks and geese' is Australian rhyming slang for 'police', Ken, so how it came to be used in your part of the world is anyone's guess!

I note though that Preston and Burnley are both districts of Melbourne. Your ancestors didn't get transported there by any chance, did they? ;-)
