Is This Green Peer Correct?
Let's take it as a given that women should feel safe on our streets at whatever time, but to do so Baroness Jones has suggested a 6pm curfew for men.
"Speaking in the House of Lords last night Baroness Jones, a mother of two daughters, said: 'In the week that Sarah Everard was abducted and, we suppose, killed—because remains have been found in a woodland in Kent — I argue that, at the next opportunity for any Bill that is appropriate, I might put in an amendment to create a curfew for men on the streets after 6 pm.
'I feel this would make women a lot safer, and discrimination of all kinds would be lessened.'"

I can only speak for myself, but I've managed to make it to my age without ever harrassing/attacking/raping/killing women and I don't intend to start!
So does she have a point, or can this be consigned to pretty much everything else that the Greens come out it with as total and utter nonsense from an irrelevant party?

Apart from the rather far-fetched notion that all men turn into marauding sex fiends when the sun goes down - assuming that all men are the same is a textbook definition of discrimination, or is it OK when a woman says it?

I have never felt unsafe on the streets, I am not unaware of the danger, but I also always knew statistics were in my favour. I was attacked in the street, ...by a group of young women from the black community. I was able to politely identify one of them to a neighbour who was an elder in said community. Said young women were apparently dealt with by their families.
I was advised by a police friend, you are big, strong and walk like you mean business, they want easy targets, the old, the weak and the drunk, you are your own best protection.

Meanwhile hearts and minds just like hers are demanding that we empty the prisons because of the pandemic, let prosecutions of villains and violent rioters walk free with no bail conditions, and open the floodgates to millions of potential illegal immigrants and convicted criminals from everywhere else in the Whirled. Cant see the religion of peace going for it can you. Just imagine the streets crawling with Islamic males and lesbians in combat gear after 6pm. Gawd elpus.
This is a tragic outcome for this young lady, I feel that the truth is that it is not always safe walking alone at night for women. It wasn’t safe when I was a teenager and it isn’t safe now. I am afraid that I cannot think of an answer to this, but locking men up after 6 pm does not sound a good idea does it?
