Atrial Fibrillation
Hi
Can anyone advice me i have been told i have atrial fibrillations, had a cardioversions which didnt work.
Am now on medication which is leaving me very tired and have some dizzy spells from time to time.
Can anyone advice me if this is a critical illness as i have insurance policy for critical illness.
As this is having a big impacted on my daily life which in turn is causing problems bring money into pay bills as am self employed and cant work as much.
Have been offered ablations operations to try and burn heart to help it beat better.
Do you think i should call insurance company or is critical illness only for very serious things like stroke cancer.
Any advice help would be greatfull.

That was discovered during an ECG that was being done for another purpose. I had no symptoms then, and I have had no symptoms since then. If I still have atrial fibrillation, I do not know of it. As far as I am concerned, it is not present in me. It does not affect me as an illness, let alone a critical illness. I wish you well.

I have atrial fibrilation....and have had it for a few years. Firstly if you medication is making you wobbly I would discuss this with your doctor or the hospital that you probably have been referred to. Secondly I had an abalation which did sort out the problem for a few years...it was really nothing. It didn't hurst and I was awake for the procedure and they sent me home a couple of hours after it was done. The electrical part of my heart, which is what makes it beat, was zapped and stopped the extra beats I was having which made it beat so fast and made me very woozy. Once that was done I was on a plane to see a friend in NZ and didn't have to even declare it for insurance purposes.
