And is it easy to set up?
Our dog groomer forgot to plug in her contactless card reader so said we could do bank transfer or cash. We’re dropping the cash off to her tomorrow but decided we’d look into bank transfer as a number of places have said we can pay that way.
Thanks.

Really easy Vagus, just have a chat with your bank, might be worth looking at direct debit payment if they are the same every month.
You would just need her sort code and account number then just go into your bank and ask them to send it to her or you can do it online if you have online banking.
Do you do internet or mobile banking? You can make direct payments on them, if you have the recipient's bank details.
If you have on line banking you just set up a new payee on your current account and you can make payments to that person in the required amount at any time.
Very easy and quick - just need account number and sort code and you set up a 'one off' payment from your account online.

Brill, thanks people, all done. Don’t know why we’ve hesitated about using this method of payment for so long.
One other comment (hopefully not too late).

If I'm sending a transfer to someone for the first time, I always just send £1 as a test to check that all the details are correct - then (once the recipient has confirmed that the £1 has arrived) I can send the balance with rather less worry.
That's probably very sensible advice, particularly for large payments.
Good advice
I always do that as well Dave, though banks are quite good now at confirming account holders names etc.

Internet banking is an absolute godsend as far as I’m concerned
