What pension are you currently paying? Does your current company match your contributions? You will be able to set up an independent pension if you want when you move jobs. I thought your company had to offer you a scheme though? Anyone know about this?
A company has to offer a scheme but it doesn't have to pay anything into it - just offer to deduct your contributions from salary and pay them to its chosen commercial provider who do everything else.

You are earning enough more to make a personal pension a reasonable option.
