If you needed to hire a car for a few days would you buy a car from one of those new companies that guarantee a full refund if you don't like it? Could save you a few quid
Assuming the refund would be 'full' (which I doubt if you start digging into the details of the contract) you'd have to organise insurance and then cancel it, which would be 'messy' to say the least.
Whenever I've enquired about short term insurance it's been ridiculously expensive. Is it all really worth the hassle. These companies must have cottoned on to this situation and thought it through, there are likely to be major drawbacks.
such as "The Supplier shall be entitled to deduct from the refund of the Price under clause 8 above or charge the Customer for a sum equal to the reduction in value of the Purchased Goods resulting from ............... including, but not limited to, reduction in value resulting from ........... or any mileage over 10 miles added to the mileage at the time of delivery;"
Barry, when i first started seeing these adverts, i thought the same as you.
People will be "buying" a posh one to impress someone, go to a family wedding ect. And then sending it back. But then thought there would probably something i the very small print to prevent this.
Prudie, I have switched cars mid cycle of my car insurance several times and it hasn't cost much, if anything, maybe a small admin fee if the new car was in the same insurance group as the old one. If I were waiting to collect my new car and needed a car to bridge the gap then the insurance wouldn't cost much at all.
Yes 500 miles but my paste is from your link where it mentions a refund reduction for over 10 miles. Like I say, they will have figured this out. As for cheap insurance extension yes for a car/ policy you already have but not when I've asked about short term cover for driving someone else's car.
