Anyone married to (or partnered with) someone who remains friends with an Ex?

I don't think it's instant friendship but when children are involved over time you become friends again.

My sons go and stay with my daughters dad in Ireland. As far as he's concerned they are part of his family.

One of my ex, we only spilt because he got a 2 year works contract in Oz. No fall out whatsoever. I went to meet him with my current partner when he came back.

Still in casual contact with the ex before Dave, I still know if I was in trouble she would help in an instant and I would do the same for her. TBH if my first husband got in touch I would be fine with that too. The other exes are all dead, the trouble with dating mostly older men.

I have a friend who is divorced. He attended his ex-wife's second wedding and is Godfather to her children from her second marriage.
