Chinajan - the setting for this week's puzzle is not in Wales funtimefreddie - I can nudge you in the right direction if you give me an idea of where your thoughts have led you so far

I did find it quite difficult to get into this week. Any ideas/thoughts about the various "clues"?
Possibly:

Ceramics collection at Aberystwyth Arts Centre, part of Aberystwyth University.

The park, I think, will be the former Plas Penglais, now Parc Natur Penglais, where rare plants were apparently collected. The profligate former owner would have been High Sheriff Roderick Richardes.

Have you got the correct answer Etch? Can you give us a clue?
I've not bothered with working my way through it all but I simply copied "ancient ceramics and jewellery in a campus museum" from my screen and bunged it into Google.

The first link offered looked interesting, so I pulled up the location on Google Maps, which showed abbey ruins nearby, conveniently located just over a river.

A bit more googling found that the same town was once home to a biscuit factory that employed 6000 people.

I'm not guaranteeing that I was on the right track but it looks like a strong possibility to me.
It just goes to show you can be too clever when it comes to googling - I tried searching on [campus museum "ancient ceramics" "jewelry" uk], which was no use whatsoever! But in the end I still got to the location that Buenchico seems to have found.
Was it the same one you were thinking of Etch? I think I've found the biscuit factory and museum but I've not yet located the rare plant park and its profligate owner.
Chinajan - the rare plant park forms the campus of the university that is home to the museum - sounds like 2 similarly coloured chess pieces.
Ah yes, got it - thanks. And to Chris.

OP - have you got it now? You can change the best answer.

As I wasn't 'reading' it right, I hadn't thought that Gilderoy Lockhart may have gone to two schools, so I spent a long time in another country. Thanks Sean
