Can Gibralter & Morocco charge a toll to ships sailing thru their sea? The area is 8miles & we own 3mil at Gibralter

I doubt that Gibraltar and Morocco could charge ships that sail through the seas near them. The Suez Canal is a man-made construction, therefore the owners are entitled to levy a charge for its use, but the seas near Gibraltar and Morocco are not man-made channels.

No, we do nothing to maintain it - Egypt constantly dredges the canal, polices its usage, carries out maintenance and repairs, digs out grounded ships, etc.

Disraeli bought 44% shares of Suez that was never paid back by Egypt.

As UK can restrict fishing on its boundry (or used as trade deal with EU) it would be an asset to earn £££s off shipping ;)
