Perhaps you need to define 'like siblings'?

Some siblings are constantly fighting like cats and dogs (e.g. Russia and China), whereas others have a lot in common and a great fondness for each other (e.g. the USA and Canada).

by siblings I mean any kind of sibling dynamic cat/dog, similar, cat/mouse they just have to be very similar in a lot of areas.

I would call cat and mouse a prey/predator relationship which would be VERY unhealthy in human siblings.

I think a better analogy than how they get on is what their antecedants are....did they have the same influences when they were "growing up" the same environment to "grow up" in? is their DNA (climate, geology, and so on) similar?

You'd need to be better than I am at both history and geography to answer that one!

Neighbours tend to fight more - and countries that used to be one, such as India and Pakistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh were ofter n either born out of conflict with each other or a conflict started because of a desire for one to be independent of the other.
