How much tax gets deducted from your wages

started a new job, and i cant find the information anywhere, but on what your paid, how much tax gets deducted from what you've earnt?? thanks in advance

Of course you then get taxed on whats left when you buy fuel (fuel duty) Housing (coucil tax) food, clothes, domestic goods etc(VAT) air travel, road tax, death duty, inheritance tax, Import duty, the list is endless
I estimate that In reality if you earn five hundred quid a week, the government snaffles �350-400 of it.
Has anyone ever worked out these figures properly I wonder.
