Redcurrent Blister

I have seen as my redcurrent bushes start to burst into leaf,red blisters appearing on some leaves. Would it be ok while I can to cut off the affected leaves and spray the bush with bug killer, or is the damage already done.

The blister is unlikely to cause any real problems. You wont see any lack of currants, it doesn't seem to effect the growth. The leaves get distorted and look unsightly. But unless you are willing to start spraying pesticides, I would just leave them alone. We get the blister every year and do nothing about it. Our freezer is still loaded with red and...
