Been pondering on this - should Scotland gain independence I presume the Saltire would then be removed from all the Union Jacks and should Wales go the same way would we then just be left with the cross of St George?

Of course the flag of England always was the Cross of St George,of the Crusaders. Oddly the Dragon of Wales is not represented on the Union flag. I think we can rest easy though. Although it's polite to say the 4 "UK nations" these days it's nonsense. Only Great Britain is the Nation with a seat at the UN. After the hot air at the end day our beloved Wales and Scotland won't want to leave.
