Oh! It's all coming back to me now from my young days on the road. After-gig hotel, willing chick with restless legs, cloth band across the bottom of the bed with a double ankle-turn..... Enough said...
Kindly save your fantasies for that blockbuster novel you're writing, Atheist ;-)
Not a blockbuster, Buen; and not fantasies. It is made up of course, but based on my 'lived experience'. And it isn't boastful and titillating.
Amuses me when you see these style mags with heaps of cushions on the bed. What the heck - the all get chucked on the floor - I only sleep with a single pillow & that's what most health professionals advise.
What runs across the bottom of the bed is a 'runner' as I opined in the very first comment !!
Burley; what's it for?
Haven't the faintest idea !
Burley; Looks cool, I suppose. Do you find a runner comfy? I don't fancy having a weight on my feet.
I don't have a runner.
Burly. I used to have a runner when I was in the business - not a strip of cloth, but somebody who would do my errands. ;-o
oke doke.

Got to go now - night night ..

////jenny, why do you have a strip of material lying across the bottom of your duvet? I've never heard of such a thing?///

where did I say such a thing - I merely asked what you called it.
A runner doesn't serve a purpose, it's just for decoration and is usually removed when you go to bed.
