Guardian Crosswords Purple App Ad On Screen
9 Answers
The Guardian crossword has an awful purple square ad for their App that pops up in the bottom right of the screen, I'm strugging to get rid of it because it badly obscures some clues. Anyone else had it? It only appeared last night, ny wife on an Ipad got rid fairly easily, but I can't get anywhere with my Mac

so whether that will do any good I'm not sure. It is so ugly and distracting, not to mention it obscures the down clues.I've tried everything I can think of, but it just sits there.......

Having spent much of the past week or two battling with the complexities of web design, so that everything in the site I'm creating looks right on different monitors, my guess here is that the Grauniad's website isn't compatible with your Mac's screen resolution.
While it should be down to the Grauniad's techies to improve their website, you can probably temporarily employ a workaround in the meantime by using a different screen resolution. In the Apple menu, select System Preferences and then Displays twice. Then select Scaled and try a different value from the one currently in use.
