What's that awful scraping sound?
On the latest Radio Four news, the reader pronounced the word as, "doze", several times.
Pronunciation and regional dialects are moveable feasts, and there are no hard and fast rules for the pronunciation of any word for that very reason.

It's really not worth getting het up about - unless you want to moan about every single BBC employee pronoucning the word 'secretary' as 'sec-et-tary' - now that poor pronunciation.

Not wrong - just poor from the BBC.
This just in: people from different areas of the country may pronounce things differently. Hold the front page.

Did you know that the No 11 bus route in Brum is the longest urban bus route in Europe ?
Ignore that, just read it again and the Coventry route was split into three.
