Hello everybody. I am wondering if it is possible to speed up the time it takes for jelly to set by putting it in the freezer.

The Grandchild has requested jelly for dinner. I have some in the cupboard so I can make some up. I usually keep it around for its high concentration of sugar and the stuff lasts for ages.

Hartley's say about 4 hours in the fridge.
you can put it in for 20 minutes or so to rapidly drop its temperature but id you leave it there, freezing it will break down the gelatine and it will go to liquid with lumps in.
Freezing doesn't work, I've tried it.

I love jelly :-)
I've got my bowl and spoon and some Carnation - is it ready?
once you have disolved the jelly crystals in hot water add icecubes and stir until melted. I find doing it this way reduces setting time to around 2 hours (I love jelly)
