Driving school film

I remember an American comedy film from, I think, the late 80s, where one scene involved a driving examination and all the character had to do was drive through a city with the examiner's hot cup of coffee on the dash, and not spill a drop. If he did that, he would pass. I cannot for the life of me remember the film. I have looked at a few sites, but none of them really ring a bell.
