No, it wasn’t an accident. Husband had to brake very suddenly yesterday on a roundabout and I’d began to move in my seat and the belt did it’s job but I had a sore neck from the jolt. But all of today I’ve had pain down my left side of neck, shoulder, hurts to move and sore head. Just very very uncomfortable.
ok -5 Feb 2020 - involved in an accident - I pulled over slowly at the end of a corner., Romanaian driver clashed - my fault I believe.
I asked the Police - they said that if the victim has not been taken away in the ambulance - no case of Whiplash. hope that helps were you taken away in an ambulance
Thank you Chris, to be fair I’m used to pain so it’s just another thing to add to my list of getting used to.
Thank you Toorak and Sam.
Jenny - there was no ambulance needed. I am sorry to hear of your incident though. But reading information it can occur well after the time it happened.
Thank you Mamya, Husband slammed the brakes on and I moved forward in my seat and head butted the sun visor so it was a hard brake from the car. My pain is about a 6.5-7. I’ll definitely try that though. Something has to give xx
It can take quite a while to develop - I seem to recall up to 48 hours. It can take several weeks to resolve depending on severity of injury and physical condition of the patient.
I'm sure Sqad would say take ibuprofen and monitor.
For the record, JJ was incorrectly advised by the police.
Whilst parked at the side of the road, someone ran into the back of my car without braking whilst doing about 30mph. I thought I was okay and was more concerned over the two people in the other car as they were both in their eighties and in a bit of a state. After a few days I started to get a stiff neck which was eventually diagnosed as a whiplash injury. It was around a year before I was totally pain free.
In the end it seemed to improve only after I really concentrated on improving my posture.
How long is a piece of string?
From the description of the incident it doesn't seem too severe, so continue your well thought out medical management. It may upset your blood sugars for a while, but no big deal.
Ah poor you! I had a case of whiplash many years ago. Caused when I was body surfing and hit a sandbank!
From memory mine lasted at least 3 months! Really painful and at times even debilitating.
